NEAR THE VILLA
Access to Skid and the Villa Casa Alta Mare is easy by car, through the village of Agios Matheos, following the relevant signs. Around the beach, there is a beautiful natural landscape with lush vegetation and paths surrounded by centuries-old olive groves, ideal for walks and cycling. Skidi is located between the beautiful beaches of Prasoudi and Kanouli.
HALIKOUNA BEACH
Villa Casa Alta Mare, located in Skidi in the southwestern part offu, is just a 5-minute drive from Korission Lake and the renowned Halikouna Beach. Korission Lake, spanning 6,000 acres, is the most significant wetland in Corfu and is protected under the Natura network due its rich biodiversity. This area is home to over 100 bird species, including flamingos and cormorants. A quaint wooden bridge connects to the opposite bank, where the lake meets the sea, a picturesque scene alongside the lush cedar that looks straight out of a travel guide. The lagoon is also known for its roe deer (buffalo) and the delectable fine shrimp, which are a must-try when fried.
